Burundian gospel artist James Niyonkuru has invited Theo Bosebabireba, a well-known Rwandan gospel singer, to join him in a special concert to launch his 12-song album titled “Senga”.
The concert will take place on August 16, 2025, in Bujumbura, at the Kinama Football Field. This event, dubbed the Senga Album Concert, will showcase songs from Niyonkuru’s new album, including the title track “Senga”, which he collaborated on with Theo Bosebabireba.
James Niyonkuru expressed how meaningful it is for him to have Theo as a guest artist, describing him not only as a close friend but also as a devoted servant of God. He said: “I’m about to release my new album titled ‘Senga’, which features 12 songs”.
He noted :”I thought of my friend Theo Bosebabireba to join me so that his fans in Burundi could be uplifted by the power and message in his music. He is both a brother and a friend, and I truly appreciate that he accepted my invitation. Many of us see the anointing of God in him.”
Niyonkuru believes that this album should be heard by everyone because of its strong gospel message: “As the title suggests, this album calls people to prayer, repentance, and remembering God’s love. I encourage everyone to come and join us so they can receive this message. I believe they will love it because I wrote it with humanity in mind.”
The Senga Album Launch Concert will also feature other gospel artists such as Basile Ndihokubwayo, known in Burundi for songs like “Chance za nyuma”, “Haracari ivyiringiro”, and others; and Daniel, known for the song “Coze”.
James Niyonkuru himself is known for songs such as “Ntutinye” and “Inzira zanjye”. The Senga Album Concert will begin at 1:00 PM on August 16, 2025, at the Kinama Football Field in Bujumbura, Burundi.
